Role Overview

The SEO Specialist works under the guidance of an SEO Strategist, helping turn strategies into actionable steps. You’ll play a key role in implementing SEO recommendations, gathering and organizing data, performing on-page optimizations, and coordinating with SEO Supports and other internal teams. This role ensures campaigns run smoothly, deadlines are met, and results are achieved.

Responsibilities

– Assist the SEO Strategist in implementing SEO strategies and recommendations.
– Suggest actionable improvements such as updated page titles, headers, or internal links.
– Perform on-page optimizations, including metadata updates, internal linking, and content formatting.
– Export, clean, and organize data from SEO tools for use in reporting and analysis.
– Assign certain tasks to SEO Supports and oversee their completion.
– Track timelines, deliverables, and workflows to help keep campaigns on schedule.
– Conduct quality checks on SEO tasks to ensure accuracy and alignment with expectations.
– Collaborate with internal teams (content, design, development, PPC) to support campaign execution.
– Maintain documentation of SEO changes, updates, and completed tasks.
– Stay updated on SEO trends, best practices, and algorithm changes.

Results (Expected Accomplishments)

– Tasks identified and delegated by the SEO Strategist are implemented correctly and delivered on time.
– Data exports are accurate, well-organized, and readily available for SEO Strategist analysis and reporting.
– On-page optimizations contribute to measurable improvements in search rankings, organic traffic, and user experience.
– Tasks assigned to SEO Supports are clearly delegated, tracked, and completed with minimal errors.
– Campaign workflows run smoothly, minimizing delays and ensuring deliverables are completed as scheduled.
– Quality assurance checks consistently catch issues before they affect project performance or reports.
– Documentation of implementations provides transparency and supports effective client and internal reporting.
– SEO campaigns show steady progress through accurate, timely, and data-driven implementation.
– The pod structure functions efficiently, with the SEO Specialist effectively supporting the SEO Strategist and guiding SEO Supports.

Requirements

– 1–2 years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in an agency or team setting.
– Strong understanding of on-page, off-page, and local SEO.
– Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog.
– Experience with CMS platforms like WordPress, Squarespace, or Shopify.
– Ability to organize and analyze exported SEO data.
– Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions while also working independently.
– Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (content, design, development, PPC).
– Ability to delegate and oversee tasks completed by SEO Supports.
– Strong organizational and time management skills.
– Problem-solving mindset, able to adapt quickly to urgent or shifting priorities.
