SEO Virtual Assistant

Salary: $4-9/hour | Part-time

We’re an online education company dedicated to empowering people to become smarter with their money, and we’re looking for a SEO VA to help us with basic SEO maintenance.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

On-Page & Content Checks:
– Spot broken links (internal and external) and fix or replace them
– Check for missing meta titles/descriptions and write or improve them for clicks
– Fix formatting issues that hurt readability (headers out of order, no H1, poor spacing)
– Update outdated info in articles so they stay accurate and current

Optimize images (alt text, compression, filenames)
– Check for keyword cannibalization and merge or adjust pages if needed

Technical SEO Quick Sweep:
– Make sure important pages are indexed and not blocked by robots.txt
– Review crawl errors in Google Search Console and fix easy ones (404s, redirect loops)
– Check page speed scores on core pages and flag slow-loading ones for follow-up
– Ensure schema/structured data is still valid (esp. for articles, FAQ, products)

Internal Linking & Structure:
– Add or adjust internal links to boost underperforming or high-priority pages
– Remove/redirect orphan pages
– Keep navigation logical and no major structural changes go unnoticed

Performance Review & Light Reporting
– Monthly GSC review: see which pages are dropping or gaining and suggest fixes
– Flag keyword opportunities where small tweaks could improve rankings
– Note any traffic dips or indexing issues that might need deeper investigation

Housekeeping & Preventative Fixes
– Remove spammy comments or toxic outbound links
– Watch for duplicate content issues (accidental reposts, tag/category archives)
– Back up before making changes, so nothing breaks

This is a fully remote role, where you will be required for 5 hours a week.
