Senior SEO Team Leader Remote – Latin America / Philippines
Position Type: Full-Time Independent Contractor
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
Salary:$2,000–$2,500/month
About This Role
We’re looking for a Senior SEO Team Leader who can execute elite-level SEO strategy while simultaneously leveling up our entire team. You’ll manage approximately 10 high-value client accounts AND lead a team of 5 SEO specialists. This means you need to be exceptional at both doing the work and teaching others how to do it right.
Here’s the reality: our current processes have room for major improvement about 50% needs to be overhauled. You’ll work directly with our founder to rebuild systems, document what actually works, train the team on it, and implement accountability structures. Some inherited accounts were mismanaged. You’ll need to get up to speed fast, diagnose what’s broken, and organize chaos into executable strategy.
This role is remote but highly accountable. You’ll be graded on verified lead growth, Search Console movement, team development, and execution quality.
What You’ll Be Doing:
SEO Strategy & Execution
- Own approximately 10 high-value client accounts for home service businesses
- Design and execute comprehensive local SEO strategies aligned to lead generation goals
- Architect site structure and internal linking for topical authority and conversion flow
- Conduct technical audits using Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb
- Fix crawl issues, indexation problems, Core Web Vitals, schema implementation, site speed
- Perform local keyword research and competitive analysis
- Optimize Google Business Profiles for local dominance
- Live in Google Search Console and GA4, build/read Looker Studio dashboards that prove attribution (forms, calls, GBP leads)
- Implement and troubleshoot Google Tag Manager for clean conversion tracking
- Monitor performance and adjust strategies based on actual data, not assumptions
Team Leadership & Training
- Own the department fully, this team is your responsibility, your results are its results
- Lead and mentor a team of 5 SEO specialists
- Proactively inspect team work with the technical knowledge to evaluate it meaningfully, call out errors, enforce SOPs, and give specific, actionable feedback
- Hold team members accountable to standards with clarity and consistency, not just when asked, but as a default behavior
- Coach in both directions: develop people’s skills and address performance gaps directly when they arise
- Celebrate wins openly and call out misses with the same energy, your team should always know where they stand
- Identify knowledge gaps and create training to close them
- Conduct regular team check-ins and performance reviews
- Share what’s working in weekly syncs, you’re the resident expert
- Set clear expectations and hold people accountable to results
- Foster a culture of relentless curiosity and continuous improvement
Process Optimization & Systems
- Collaborate with founder to overhaul approximately 50% of current SEO processes
- Build and document SOPs for all SEO activities (strategy, technical, content, reporting)
- Implement quality control checkpoints to catch errors before clients see them
- Create scalable systems that support team growth without sacrificing quality
- Improve the machine as you go document what works, eliminate what doesn’t
Client Communication & Reporting
- Deliver weekly or biweekly client updates (Loom + written notes)
- Translate SEO metrics into business language clients understand (leads, revenue, growth)
- Keep clients confident and informed without over-promising
- Separate progress updates from monetization discussions
- Participate in strategic client meetings when needed
Content Strategy
- Conduct local keyword research and create detailed content briefs
- Collaborate with writers to produce SEO-ready, conversion-focused content
- Monitor content performance and iterate based on what’s working

Qualifications:
Required:
- 4+ years hands-on local SEO experience with proven lead growth results (not just traffic or rankings)
- 2+ years team leadership, training, or mentorship experience
- Deep expertise in local SEO for service-based businesses
- Strong technical SEO skills: audits, crawl/indexation troubleshooting, schema, CWV, speed optimization
- Proficiency with: Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Mangools, SEO Stack
- Experience training others and creating documentation/SOPs
- Track record managing 10+ client accounts simultaneously without dropping quality
- Portfolio or case studies showing successful local SEO campaigns you personally executed
Preferred (Nice to Have):
- Agency experience managing service-based business clients
- WordPress fluency for implementing technical SEO fixes directly
- Experience rebuilding broken SEO processes or inheriting mismanaged accounts
- Looker Studio, Google Tag Manager, or BrightLocal experience
- Familiarity with Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, or similar audit tools
- Strategic use of AI tools to enhance efficiency without sacrificing quality
Technical Skills:
- Expert-level: Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Mangools, SEO Stack
- Strong: Google Business Profile optimization, local search strategies
- Proficient: Schema markup, technical audits, Core Web Vitals, page speed optimization
- Comfortable: WordPress for SEO implementations, GTM for conversion tracking
- Data-driven: dashboard building, attribution modeling, reporting that proves ROI
Setup Requirements:
- Reliable high-speed internet and professional home office
- Available for CST business hours (8 AM – 5 PM)
- Comfortable with team collaboration tools, video calls, and Loom recordings

- Inheritance factor: some accounts need rescue and fast diagnosis
