SEO Content Editor & WordPress Specialist

Job Overview

Our client is seeking an SEO Content Editor & WordPress Specialist with strong editorial judgment and hands-on experience with WordPress, SEO, digital publishing, and AI-powered tools. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, correcting, refining, and publishing content while ensuring that all materials meet the company’s standards for accuracy, readability, brand voice, SEO, and overall quality. The ideal candidate is comfortable using AI tools in their workflow to support research and editing while applying critical human judgment to fact-check and elevate all published materials.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM PST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Editorial & Content Quality: Review and edit articles, website copy, blogs, landing pages, and digital content for grammar, spelling, structure, tone, and readability; identify and correct factual inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and redundancies; perform detailed proofreading and ensure adherence to brand guidelines across all client accounts.
• AI Tools & Workflow: Use ChatGPT and AI platforms for research, editing, rewriting, and workflow efficiency; critically evaluate AI-assisted content to eliminate inaccuracies, unsupported claims, or repetitive phrasing while maintaining strict editorial standards.
• WordPress & Web Publishing: Upload, format, edit, and publish content directly in WordPress; manage posts, pages, headings, images, hyperlinks, metadata, categories, and tags; verify correct formatting across devices and collaborate with web/SEO teams on technical updates.
• SEO & Content Optimization: Review content for on-page SEO requirements (keyword placement, internal linking, meta info, readability, search intent); optimize existing assets to improve relevance, user experience, and organic search performance.
• Corrections & Quality Control: Serve as the final editorial checkpoint before client delivery or online publication; maintain correction logs, editorial checklists, and quality-control processes while flagging significant factual, legal, or brand-related concerns.

Requirements

• Proven professional experience in editing, proofreading, content management, copywriting, or digital publishing.
• Strong working knowledge of WordPress, including creating, editing, formatting, and publishing posts and pages.
• Practical experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to support research, editing, content review, and workflow productivity.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and apply sound human editorial judgment before publication.
• Exceptional command of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and editorial style.
• Strong fact-checking, research, detail orientation, and organizational skills.
• Basic understanding of SEO principles and on-page content optimization.
• Ability to manage multiple content assets, clients, and deadlines simultaneously in an independent and collaborative environment.
