SEO Specialist with WordPress and GEO Experience

We are seeking a dedicated, results-oriented Search Engine Optimization (SEO) specialist based in the Philippines for a full-time remote role. You will manage traditional SEO alongside Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)—optimizing content so AI-driven engines (e.g., ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity) can easily discover, interpret, cite, and include it in generated responses—for our clients, primarily US-based small to medium businesses in niches like home services, local professionals, and e-commerce. You’ll also perform hands-on changes and updates directly on WordPress websites.

This is a long-term opportunity with room for growth, performance-based raises, and bonuses tied to measurable outcomes like improved search rankings, AI citations, traffic growth, and lead generation.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct on-page Search Engine Optimization (SEO): keyword research, optimizing meta titles/descriptions, headings, alt text, internal linking, and implementing schema markup (using plugins like Yoast or Rank Math).
Apply Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) techniques: structure content with authoritative language, unique phrasing, statistics/quotes, fluent explanations, and entity optimization to increase visibility and citations in AI-generated answers.
Optimize content for both traditional search engines and generative AI: rewrite pages for clarity, add persuasive elements, ensure E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness), and test for AI pickup using tools like ChatGPT or Perplexity.
Perform direct WordPress edits and management: log in to client sites, install/update plugins, create/edit pages and posts, optimize images/content, resolve basic issues, and make customizations using page builders (Elementor, Divi, etc.—no advanced coding required, but familiarity helps).
Support off-page efforts: basic link building, directory submissions, and collaborations to boost domain authority for better AI recognition.
Monitor and report monthly performance: track rankings (Google Search Console), traffic (Google Analytics 4), AI citations (via manual checks or tools), and leads generated.
Communicate professionally via Slack, Asana / Trello, and occasional quick calls (some overlap with US Eastern/Central time preferred, but flexible).

Required Skills & Experience:

1–3+ years of practical experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO), with exposure to or strong interest in Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) for AI-driven platforms.
Solid WordPress proficiency: comfortable making backend/frontend changes, using SEO plugins, page builders, and basic troubleshooting.
Familiarity with key tools: Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Ahrefs/SEMrush (access provided if needed), plus AI testing tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Claude.
Leadership, strong work ethics, English communication skills (written and spoken) for client-facing updates and creating AI-optimized content.
Proactive, detail-focused, able to work independently while following clear guidelines.
Bonus (helpful but not mandatory): Experience with content structuring for LLMs, E-E-A-T optimization, basic HTML/CSS tweaks, or tools like Surfer SEO/Semrush Content Editor.

Full-time commitment: 40 hours/week (flexible scheduling with some US time-zone overlap ideal).
Starting monthly salary: 40000-60000 php(based on your experience and demonstrated skills; we start at the lower end and raise quickly with proven results).
