Pinoy SEO recently had the opportunity to interview Japhit Tago, a former boot camp student who is now an SEO specialist in the Philippines and has landed many SEO clients since completing the program.
Japhit comes from a family of watch technicians and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing. He worked as a lead generation virtual assistant for six years before transitioning to a back-office staff role at Citi Hardware.
However, Japhit felt that he was not making enough money and considered returning to his VA job. It was during this time that Japhit realized the potential of an SEO career.
To learn more about SEO, Japhit enrolled in the PinoySEO boot camp program to upskill himself and pursue a more promising career path. The program provided hands-on training to individuals who want to start a career in SEO, covering topics such as keyword research, on-page optimization, link building, and content marketing.
Since completing the boot camp, Japhit has become an SEO specialist for multiple clients, and he attributes his success to the skills he acquired from the program. He has landed many SEO clients and has significantly increased his income.
Japhit’s suggestion for new SEO workers is to ask clients for the tools they need to do their job well. He said it’s hard to work with free tools and that using better ones can help ensure good results.
Moreover, Japhit highlighted the importance of having a portfolio website. He used the free website provided by PinoySEO as his portfolio, which helped him stand out from the competition. Having a website can help freelancers compete better
Japhit’s experience and tips show that learning new skills and using available resources can lead to success in a career.
